6th October 2010- Programmable DC Power Source with high power density:
8 kW in a 2 HU package
Our partner Magna-Power Electronics introduces a revised version of its XR Series. The new DC sources provide an output power of up to 8 kW and need only two height units in a 19" rack. The XR-Series II thereby has the highest power density of all programmable DC sources in this format that are currently available on the market.
The XR-Series includes 70 models with different configurations. Depending on requirements, the DC sources are available in four power classes from 2 to 8 kW, for voltages up to 1000 V and currents up to 375 A. They can be used as voltage or as current source. Due to the modular design of the product line Magna-Power is able to provide tailored products for various applications out of their standard program.
The laboratory power supplies can be delivered with all standard interfaces such as RS232, IEEE-488/GPIB, USB, and LXI Ethernet. Digital or analogue control is possible and a user-friendly operation software is delivered with the power source. The corresponding IVI drivers enable integration into virtually any programming environment such as LabVIEW or LabWindows. Current-voltage characteristic lines e.g. for photovoltaic simulation can be integrated, which helps to perform tests sequences more efficiently.
Higher power or bipolar output voltages can be generated by parallel operation of several XR sources. The XR-sources are suitable for various applications such as automatic test equipment, photovoltaic emulation, drive testing, charging batteries, and various research and development applications. The new XR-Series II is presented worldwide for the first time at electronica 2010 (November 9 to 12) in Munich at our booth in hall A1, booth A1.654.
